MTC Gün dört (Day 4)

Another day is complete and we can sense that things are winding down for the Preach My Gospel or the general missionary training.  Most of the couples in our district will be departing this weekend or early next week.  We are the only humanitarian missionaries in our group of 4 couples.  We will begin our Welfare services training on Saturday morning.
There is a tremendous amount of role playing and situational review.  The best part of the whole experience is being on an island of young happy people.  Everyone is so enthused and positive with huge smiles and unlimited energy.  You can not help but fell lifted up.  I also really like some of the stories and experiences that we hear.
Today we taught an old cowboy.  He was so much fun to listen to and share his experiences.  His wife died a few years ago and he had two grandkids drown in an automobile accident that took the lives of 5 high school kids.  It was a heart breaking discussion, but of course good old mom had him eating out of her hand.  She is such a compassionate person that I can just cruise along.
This is our district.  Elder and Sister Kruckenberg from North Dakota heading for Mesa Arizona for a records recovery and preservation mission.  He is an electrical systems professor from a two year college.  Mom and I.  Elder and Sister Kalles from Pulliupe, Washington heading for Australia Adelaide member, leadership support.  In other words they are more of a proselyting couple.  He is a retired fireman EMC.  They had no idea what MLS was until they arrived here and they are terrified about proselyting.  Elder and Sister Eliason from Alta, Wyoming heading for Asia North residing in Tokyo, Japan.  He is a family practice doctor and they are going to be the medical liason for the mission.  He spent most of his practice teaching and working in the midwest.
The majority of our time is spent with these folks.
