Well it is nearly 9 PM. We have been working at something for the last 12 hours. We are totally wiped out. What a good day. We began by teaching a member referral that had come to the MTC to learn more about the Church. We taught for about 45 minutes and had a very good experience. It was a great chance to work together as a team and share the truthfulness of the gospel.
We ended our day with a two hour Turkish language session. It was amazing. Our tudor was a 17 year old exchange student from Istanbul that has lived in the US for a few months with a local LDS family. She is Muslim but very interested in the Church. Her name is Bengü. She is so personable and literally lights up the room. It was a good day. She will return to Istanbul in June of next year and actually lives very close to the branch and where will live.
Nori is such a natural at this whole mission thing. She just has to smile and everyone is ready to be her friend. What a remarkable experience. This is a good thing we are doing.
Momma- you look beautiful in this picture. Sounds like a great day. I miss you already. Hannah and Shelby both performed at YW in excellence tonight. Hannah guitar and Shelby did her monologue. Love these updates.
ReplyDeleteI love that as my kids are begin school this morning, they start their day by opening the computer to their smiling grandma. I am so thrilled to hear that already you both sound so happy about this decision you've made. You haven't even left the US yet and you've already met and undoubtedly influenced someone from Turkey! Bengu looks darling.
ReplyDeleteYou will be glad to know that Maggie is fitting around here like a natural. This morning at scripture study, after a rocky start and a lecture to each of the kids about sitting still and paying attention, Maggie decided that was the right moment to begin wrestling with her sock in the middle of the kitchen and causing a ruckus. She is just like one of the kids!
