Faşcism Direniyor .... The real substance of the unhappiness in Turkey

near the Kordon, 2 blocks from our apartment
Well it has taken a riot in Turkey to get people to remember we are over here in the midst of the action.  We appreciate the concern that so many have expressed, but we are actually just fine.  We have been encouraged to be careful and obviously we avoid the centers of the the disturbance, but all in all the majority of the so called riots are mostly peaceable protests.  There are particular areas that have gotten out of hand and of course the news takes it to extreme, but what is really amazing is the universal organization of the average person that takes a small voice in what they consider a government that has taken far too much responsibility to determine the life of the people.  A government that has decided that it was not just elected, but anointed to decide all that is right for everyone.
I know I have often blasted good old Berry O'bama, but I am not talking about his position right now, I am talking about Turkey.  Unfortunately we live in a world where no matter where you go, someone feels they are entitled to determine everyone else's destiny.  This is best described in D&C 121:39,  "We have learned by sad experience that it is the nature and disposition of almost all men, as soon as they get a little authority, as they suppose, they will immediately begin to exercise unrighteous dominion".
Schools closed and thousands of educators and families joined the march.
I think that one of the things in life that I contemplate the most is the situation of power in leadership and management.  We are all faced with unique situations where we are at the disposition of someone.  I find that the term used in the Doctrine and Covenants "of almost all men" fairly scary.  It does not say a few or some, it says almost all!!
The unfortunate effects will last a long time.

Of course it is easy to assume that the leader has assumed too much authority whenever their action seems to go where we do not prefer, but it is always a interesting point of discussion.  The real question is when are leaders acting in the best interest?

We have observed this controversy and for the most part the people have united only in that they think the Prime Minister is taking too much liberty with every decision and not just acting in behalf of the desires of the people.  It began with a protest to the building of another mall in Istanbul and when the demonstrators were literally attacked by the police every other special interest took the opportunity to bring up their own agenda.

Every agenda includes the concern that the Prime Minister is taking too many liberties and moving the country more toward Islamic philosophy with himself assuming what is right for everyone.  The world obviously does not take history into consideration because this is simply the self given authority for every fascist in the world.
universities against Fascism.
Kids flags and whistles, a family affair

Not just a mission, an adventure in world history.  Some days it just seems we have become world observers.  The stories are accumulating and the whole affair is a life in and of itself.

Now if the people here could get as involved in religion.  Oh yeah, maybe they are if they stay the loss of secularism in this country.
